How do I treat Gout?

By Aber Demurr

Gout is a type of arthritis that occurs when unwanted uric acid crystals accumulate in the joints. Gout usually affects the large joint of the big toe but can also affect other joints, including the knee, ankle, foot, hand, wrist and elbow. The shoulders, hips or spine can also be affected during the later stages of gout. The symptoms of gout usually appear suddenly, and can last anywhere from a few hours to several days.

Alternative treatments of an acute attack of gout may involve bed rest, immobilization of the affected part and local application of heat or cold. Management of gout also may involve attempts to control the rate of uric acid formation by having the individual follow a purifying detox or low purine diet. Such a diet excludes sweetbreads, liver, kidney, poultry, fish, alcohol, rich pastries, and fried foods. To promote uric acid clearance by the kidneys, individuals with gout will usually be encouraged to drink moderate quantities of water frequently.

Gout occurs when there is too much uric acid in the blood. Certain individuals are more prone to get gout, including males over the age of 30, people who have a history of gout running in the family, individuals who are overweight, those who consume more than two alcoholic drinks daily or two carbonated beverages sweetened with sugar, cigarette smokers, those who regularly use diuretic medications and those who include abundant amounts of red meat, poultry, yeast and seafood in their daily diets.

The disease Gout is typically associated with eating meats that contain a high amount of iron, such as liver. Some vegetables also have high amounts of purine. Purine rich foods such as lentils, asparagus, cauliflower, broccoli and dried beans and beans contribute to the development of gout. Even normally healthy food may not be safe from a purine content point of view. Oatmeal, wheat bran, and wheat germ extract can cause problems for gout sufferers if they are consumed in excess.

So how to cure Gout. Well the use of cherries in alleviating gout can be traced back to a 1950 study conducted in Texas. 12 patients were observed after they were made to consume about a pound of cherries daily. It was discovered that the level of uric acid in their blood dropped to normal, they became less prone to gout and movement became less painful to them.

For centuries, plant extracts and natural herbs have been used to treat gout in Europe and Asia. Clinical research proved that those plant extracts do have natural compounds that reduce uric acids in the blood and expel it from the body. Those scientific studies lead to the creation of Goutezol. Goutezol is an effective natural treatment for gout because it reduces pain, swelling, and inflammation. It also improves purine metabolism and digestion, gets rid of uric acids in the body, lowers the levels of uric acid in the blood. Goutezol is the only product on the market that contains an extract from the mulberry tree which in China has been used for centuries to treat gout. Goutezol is a great natural treatment for gout because it starts working almost immediately.
